History
Lieno began business in 1998 as QWK.Net, a web hosting provider. We built a small, successful hosting business with supremely happy clients.
With the continued rise of subscription-based content on the web, we decided in 2000 to develop a small-scale software package to offer to our clients. With integrated hosting, billing, and access management all under one roof, our clients profited greatly.
In 2001, we were approached by Merriam-Webster, Inc. to build an enterprise-grade billing and subscription management system for their soon-to-be-launched premium dictionary services. This was a springboard for a new company direction.
After a successful launch of services for Merriam-Webster, we sold the hosting business in its entirety in 2003. This move allowed us to focus on servicing the growing demands of our subscription management services.
Most recently, in 2006, we expanded our service offerings to include high-volume, fault-tolerant hosting services. Our "boutique" services allow us to provide greatly tailored service to a small number of select clients.
